About
Costa Rica

The country has over 5% of the world’s biodiversity

A natural gem of the tropical latitudes, Costa Rica, is bordered by two oceans and enjoys an immense diversity of climates and environmental regions.

In only one day, you may enjoy the morning breeze on a mountaintop, indulge in the warmth of a natural hot spring, feel the touch of nature in the rain of Cloud forests and end the day unwinding on an exotic beach.
With a small territory of 51000 KM2, the country has over 5% of the world's biodiversity. Costa Rica has preserved it in national parks representing about 23% of its territory.

Costa Ricans take pride in their cultured and democratic society, renowned for its peaceful political stability and excellent health and educational system. The spontaneous hospitality of the Costa Ricans made our visitors feel at home.

Nature,
Volcanoes
and
Beaches:

Costa Rica has a tremendous diversity of habitats and Ecosystems

One of the main attractions is the volcanoes, most located within National Parks, some offering spectacular activity while others magnificent beauty. Most of them are surrounded by rain or cloud forests. The Poas volcano, with its enormous crater of 1.5KM in diameter; the Arenal Volcano, with its smoking cone or the Rincon de la Vieja, with its boiling muds pots, hissing fumaroles, and thermal streams are a few examples.

Despite its small territory, Costa Rica has a tremendous diversity of habitats and Ecosystems. In four hours, you may go from a Cloud Forest to a tropical dry or rainforest and be able to admire the different species of flora and fauna.

The cloud forest is frequently draped in mist and clouds. Algae, mosses, and lichens grow on wet surfaces. Bromeliads, Orchids, and ferns are common in the area. It is also home to birds and butterflies. Monteverde or San Gerardo de Dota is a typical cloud forest.
The tropical dry forest is mainly located on the north and central pacific coast. Many tree species grow there: the mayflower and the Costa Rican National Tree or ear tree are two samples out of 240 species. The most conspicuous mammals are the howler monkey, white face monkey, and white-tailed deer.

In the south pacific, you can visit the Corcovado National Park, a rainforest that includes a herbaceous swamp of 1000 hectares and serves as a wildlife refuge. It is the rawest, most challenging, and most rewarding park in Costa Rica.

Going toward the Caribbean, you find the tropical rainforest. Walking in the rainforest is like taking a step back in time. At dawn, the forest resonates with the song of birds while quiet in the day's heat. The most famous rainforest park is Tortuguero, and from mid-June to mid-September, takes place the arrival of the Turtles.

Mother nature has endowed the country with beautiful beaches, each with its unique charm

You will find them impressive, from shelter coves to long beaches surrounded by forest and a great variety of flora and fauna. The northern pacific beaches, with some two dozen beaches in number, are known as the “Golden Coast.”

Manuel Antonio beach at the central Pacific is the jewel and most famous Beach in the area. However, Jaco and Hermosa beach are also well known for the practice of Surf.
Many visitors still undiscovered southern pacific beaches, Dominical, Uvita, and the impressive Osa Peninsula -home of the Corcovado National Park-.

The South Caribbean is the Cradle of Costa Rica’s Afro-Caribbean culture. It is a magical place filled with exuberant vegetation, coral reefs, and palm-studded beaches. Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo are some beaches you may enjoy in perfect harmony with nature.

The
Activities:

Costa Rica’s biodiversity allows you to choose your favorite activity

Ecotourism: From nature Walks along the trails of a lush rainforest to a trip in the Canopy on a Zip-line, a tram or hanging bridges are the options you may find. Also, mountain hiking, horseback riding, or canyoneering are other possibilities for the more adventurous.

Adventure: Sports such as river rafting, kayaking, biking, surfing, and diving will whet your appetite for more.
